I’m not at liberty to disclose a lot of what the meat of the matter is in this note, but I continue hoping that you’ll trust i’m not lying, or at least not wilfully misleading anyone. I feel it somewhat cruel to divulge everything for various factors. Possibly, I might alienate a few and it’s not really my intent.
I’ve seen a slew of demonstrations of religiously inspired backlash on an ongoing basis since starting Spiralvent. For the most part, they’ve puzzled me except for the fact that they’re largely on the side of religious “feelings”. I’ve read over and over again about the feelings of religious people. The antidote to those feelings is that religious ideas are simply ideas and damn me if I don’t subscribe to that train of thought. As the sayings go, why be unjustly cruel for political reasons and ignore the policy that’s engendered by religious following? Church and state are not as separate as you would imagine…even in Canada.
I’ve also been staring down the path of the Right. I think most people have. We live in a world where all of this is extremely relevant. Look at the political movements in Europe and the United States. Not to mention the Middle East in countries like Turkey, Iran and even Egypt. It’s a daily fact of existence unless you’re isolated and don’t read the news. I’m not claiming to be an expert, but are we that secretive about the world’s goings on?
Back to my point. Ignorance is a strange thing. You can know what someone is referring to with all your “heart”, but if you’re driven by religious sensitivity and a disdain for what religion affects, both internationally and in your own community, you’ve essentially fallen into a sort of echo chamber when it comes to denying free speech and a leftist agenda.
What I write on Spiralvent is only the tip of the iceberg and it’s the type of sinker that, I’ve found, most don’t want to follow. Too bad for ME. But, I remain adamant about freedom of speech and my right to blaspheme!
For the record, if nothing else, I’ve seen religion and all its reaches, shut down, or try to shut down, what is absolutely imperative in a contemporary society.
MARKETING SPIRALVENT
On the issue of marketing my online presence, there’s mainly one reason I don’t make bold strides in that department. I simply feel that the content I offer is not as developed as it should be in order to be meaningful in a wider context. My personal narrative is definitely wrapped up in the content but, at the same time, I don’t think it’s something I’m willing to hide. So, there you have it. Spiralvent is online and public but with only a small audience and I mean small.
